I can't remember a flat day this summer. Rain and wind yes, but not one flat day, not one. The season finally came to an end and the car parks and cafe's started to empty again; Autumn was upon us. The tourists went home wet and convinced they were definitely going to Benidorm next year despite the recession. Then, like a just reward for sitting in traffic and having to park in the overflow a mile away from the beach for 8 weeks, the sun came out and the surf got even better. High pressures over the peninsula and ferocious lows due west saw long distant swells fold along our coast. The crescendo of these conditions sounded on the 21st of October and with a little imagination you can imagine any world class surfer tearing up and tucking in to these great waves, if not, then I hope you enjoy the ocean at its purest and best.
