Longboard type

Hi, looking at buying a longboard and wondered if anyone can offer advice on the best type to get and what the difference is between a pintail and square tail? Thanks

Id suggest searching using advanced search just for 'longboard' - it'll bring up loads of useful threads on the subject.

As above, the best to get depends on whether you want to surf in a very traditional manner, a more progressive manner or a mix of both.

Broadly speaking, square tails are more pivoty and noseride very slightly better, pintails are more carvy and deal with steeper waves better but there are a million other factors. At the stage you sound like you are at, you prob wont notice much of a difference
