Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago receive excellent swell during the North Atlantic swell season from November to March and consistent wind waves from the easterly trades which switch slightly more onshore during the winter. The mornings are the best time to surf before the trade-winds pick up. Mainly reef and beach breaks they have a reputation for inconsistency, especially on the Caribbean side where surf consistency can drop to less than 10 percent. Sea temperatures remain at about 28°C or 82°F all year.
