US East Coast Hurricane Swell Forecast

Our normal forecasts use data that can miss the very small yet very powerful centre of a tropical storm and underestimate the size and power of the swell it'll produce. For these very intense storms we have another model which uses a different method for predicting winds, and a higher resolution. This means it's a much better judge just of the very specific swells created by Tropical storms. Compare these forecasts for swell height and period with your local spot to get some idea of the difference. Because these swells tend to arrive in a defined, solid, long period front the forecast for your region should translate easily to your local beach, there won't be huge local variation.
