There will be 3 beach cleans at Arrifana, Monte Clerigo and Amoriera starting from 3pm until dark on Sunday 22nd March.

It would be fantastic if loads of people got involved!

For the 14th year running, Surfrider Foundation Europe is organising the “Ocean Initiatives”, a major eco-friendly event devoted to the protection of our coastline, lakes and rivers.

The Ocean Initiatives in 2008:

Record numbers of participants: more than 15,000 volunteers, including 3,500 schoolchildren, gathered together over a weekend.

A global dimension: 335 sites cleaned up in 15 countries with, for the first time, the official participation of the worldwide Surfrider network.

From the stream to the beach: first edition of the operation on lakes and rivers. With 90% of ocean pollution coming from the land, it is crucial that the whole water cycle be taken into account.
