New Jersey locals awoke to offshore winds and a solid groundswell on Sunday morning. A pinch of a window gave savvy East Coasters the chance to score, resulting in a day of sandy beatings and heavy brown barrels.
A low pressure impacting the coast on Saturday set up a brief south westerly fetch pushing swell towards the coast. As the storm gathered intensity and moved off the coast into the Atlantic it pulled the winds offshore and those with a head for a forecast headed to the beach. This same system created both the swell and generated the offshore wind which ironed out the low period creases.
