Go inside the lives of Taj Burrow and Josh Kerr one last time in the lead up to the Drug Aware Pro. In this, the final episode of the Burrow/Kerr chapter of 21Days, Taj and trainer Johnny Gannon taper the 35-year-old’s workouts as Margarets draws closer.
Kerr, on the other hand, does some wake surf training at home in Southern California before hopping a plane back to Western Australia. Once in WA, Kerrzy – in a rare twist – visits TB at his home and the two review and dissect their 2010 Final at the Drug Aware Pro, where a then yet-to-re-qualify Kerr came back to beat a heavily favoured Burrow with less than 10 minutes left.
As the Tour turns its eyes to Western Australia, for Burrow and Kerr the pressure to take that next step in their careers is mounting, and both see the newly minted CT event at Margaret River as a key stepping stone. Taj, still chasing that elusive world title, is eager to make his mark at WCT in his backyard and continue a strong first half. Kerr is looking to repeat success at a venue where he claimed his first ASP victory as he prepares to mount a legitimate push for the Top 5 and legitimise himself as a real world title threat.
This is the final chapter of their story. Go inside their lives as they make the final tweaks before an event that might very well set the tone for the year.
It may be too late for the ASP Big Wave World Tour, but Dungeons lit up.
Conor Maguire harks towards a time when the cold and dark wraps back in and the lows deepen, spinning thick ropes of swell towards Ireland.
Italy has waves and Sardinia has some of the best spots, places you would not believe. Leonardo Fioravanti knows that better than most...
From the Caribbean to Nova Scotia (and maybe even Europe) the forecast is for a medium sized swell to grace your local beach.
Like a lot of the waves in the edit, this one is a grower. Dusty Payne and Yadin Nicol make light work of things you'd sail on by.
Highlight of the day was the 17-year-old brother of local legend Manoa. He blew everyone away.
