AXI Muniain's mission this winter is pretty simple. He has up until April the 15th, 2011, to ride the biggest waves Europe has to offer in an attempt to win the XXL awards with a Euro wave. This Belharra session got him an XXL nomination alongside partner Jerome Sayouhn. Also towing that day was Benjamin "Sancho" Sanchis fresh off the boat from his weekend triumph at the Mullaghmore tow comp. Kippping in the truck right by Sokoa, the little harbour in Saint Jean de Luz, the Naturgas team motored out to Belharra at first light to take advantage of the low tide. Unfortunately with the tide filling in and the swell dropping Belharra's real face only appeared for the the very first hour, after which it all got a bit fat.
