We've followed Hurricane Hermine as it hit Florida and lit up the Gulf and East Coasts over the weekend. You'll find a gallery showcasing the best from both here. However, this happened to be an extended weekend with the inclusion of Labor Day and, as if a gift, Hermine made that Monday in New York extra special. So much so, we felt we had no choice but to sling up another gallery.
"Yesterday was definitely an all-time experience," Long Island lensman Joe O'Connor tells us. "A day where it's almost impossible to walk away from the beach if you surf or shoot surf photography. The only other day in recent memory that can compete was Cristobal which was two or three years ago.
"Pacific is the spot where most of these shots are from. It was definitely significantly heavier than the rest of town. Lido was busier but not packed. It was just too big for your average guy. I know Lincoln was a bit smaller as I could see it from the entrance ramp of Pacific. There were easily 75 guys plus cramped between two jetties."
