Fanning and Wilko join the local crew to pay homage to the first real south swell of 2014.
“February 4th and 5th, a good south swell was heading towards the Island of the Gods” Said Luri Borba “Every surfer we spoke with was frothing to surf the first good swell of 2014. And evidently island residents were not alone in their anticipation.
We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at Keramas we saw a blond chap annihilating the waves: none other than surfing World champion, Mick Fanning. The waves were pumping, Mick and Wilko had come over from Australia and were showing us some quality surf. Indonesia’s Rip Curl team riders were close behind, smashing lips and getting barrelled for days.”
“It was fun, some good ones at Keramas, with another one coming tomorrow and there is that good looking one for next week…”
