IT'S official, Leslie was the funnest swell for nearly everyone on the East Coast since the previous one. What we mean is it's impossible to quantify just how 'good' an event like this was. The nooks and crannies all came alive, crucially, it was a swell which allowed people time to explore fickle breaks previously discounted in favor of old faithfuls. Now Leslie has turned extra-tropical and is headed towards Europe attention in the East turns towards Hurricane Nadine, something of a miser to Leslie's bounty, but even saying that she'll be sending a few days of surf to the East Coast in the fun range. For a few short weeks each late summer and autumn there's no better place to be than East. The final stages of the comp are as such: This will be the second to last album, the final one will be from Europe and incorporate the best of the rest From The East Coast. We'll then pull together a final shortlist for you to have your say upon, but the casting vote resides with us. Remember that the winning shot gets a surf trip to the Maldives, including flights, aboard the Haira, a top quality charter boat courtesy of the theperfectwave. "Dane and Craig Anderson were there with a film crew getting some footage down the point." Said Adam "I was shooting Paige Alms and a a 'who's who' of Canadian surfers also in the water. I was able to keep an eye on both spots and shoot both groups which was pretty sweet. "There was rumours of Slater being around, but didn't see him. It really was quite incredible. It was like we were in a different country for the day." © 2013 Adam Cornick
