Mavericks Invitational Highlights

The contest jersey can make people do crazy things, transforming an unmakeable drop into a possible ten, or pushing competitors to sit that modicum closer to the peak. Here are some highlights from the 2014 Mavericks Invitational, won by Grant “Twiggy” Baker in emphatic fashion.

“Obviously a magical day for me personally at Mavericks, the conditions were challenging, but this is a highlight of my career,” said Twiggy. “Two of my favourite surfers in the world were in that heat, Greg Long and Shane Dorian, to beat them is something else.”

The final finished with Twiggy up front, followed by Shane Dorian, Ryan Augenstein, Tyler Fox, Greg Long and Anthony Tashnick.
