A remote Indonesian mystery wave pushes surfers Mikala Jones, Ian Walsh, Dean Morrison, and friends to their limits.
Back in the peak of the Indonesian summer swell season a wonderful photo dropped in of Mikala Jones bolt upright in a mysto barrel (well not exactly secret, but that’s the game) truth is most people don’t surf this wave because it’s tough to make the drop, let alone the fickle barrel. Cue a scramble on land as we had unintentionally scooped a long planned trip, a paddle out to the surprised photographer’s boat anchored up in the evening gloom, a brief conversation, emails set on wing, and the photo was pulled to preserve the sanctity of this amazing session.
