SOMEWHERE, Indonesia (Friday, August 1, 2008) - After assessing conditions throughout the day, event organizers at the Rip Curl Pro Search have called the remaining six heats of Round 2 on this afternoon, starting at 2pm at the primary venue, “somewhere” in Indonesia.
Event No. 6 on the 2008 ASP World Tour, the Rip Curl Pro Search saw the elimination of 10 competitors during yesterday’s Round 2 action before organizers called it off in the afternoon due to inconsistency. Today sees solid four-foot (1.5 metre) waves on offer and the remaining six heats of Round 2 will begin competition at 2pm.
“It’s been a long wait today, but there are some beautiful waves coming in on the the low tide right now and we’re going to send Round 2 out around 2pm,” Damien Hardman, Rip Curl Pro Search Contest Director, said. “We’ll be looking to finish the remainder of Round 2 this afternoon and we’ve got some great match-ups coming up.”
