SHIPSTERN Bluff fired up on Monday, July 5th, with a 4 metre south-west swell bashing the 100ft vertical walls of this cold southern landscape. It was a nice surprise to arrive, writes Stuart Gibson of TheCollective, and find only two guys out making a total of 10 locals. The swell kicked early and held steady for most of the day with Tyler Hollmer Cross getting the wave of the day, a mutant beast snagged before the sun had a chance to even touch the wave. He almost fell on the first step, so lucky to ride out of the wave that left him with torn ligaments in his ankle. All in all a great day. © 2013 Stu Gibson/thecollective.net.au
