FREIGHT train right-hand tubes are something of a speciality on on the East Coast of Australia. Queensland's surfers live for a run of swell like the final days of June which delivered barrels of west swell.
This isn't Kirra or Snapper but it could be, it's an hour or three north and for at least one day the sand was sitting pretty, drawing in the energy, rolling it up and ejecting it in a form straddling the edge of the makeable realm. Keahi De Aboitiz, Dean Brady, Ryan Campbell and Luke Jory air-dropped their way into and through these tunnels, making some and being made by others.
Keahi said afterwards: "It wasn't as perfect as the last swell that everybody raved about, but it was definitely chunkier and more challenging in the tube".
