IT’S Billabong Pro Teahupoo time again folks. You know that place, the End of the Road, and it goes between August 16th and 27th.
Twelve months ago we were piddling in our collective pants eyeing-up a Code Red forecast. An event so unusual we might never see it repeated at this event.
In contrast, 2012 promises a more prosaic outlook. A decent start today (Thursday, 16th) will be ruffled by light to moderate winds before the swell fizzles up-and-down providing middling windows of opportunity into the middle of next week. Fun for you to go and try your hand at Teahupoo but nothing jaw-dropping.
Having said all that, there is a glimmer of a solid swell right out there on the 16 day charts, one that’s currently forecast to arrive around the 26th of August. This far out it’s just a murmur, albiet a positive one.
