JOSH Kerr was the man yesterday and today the action looks set to continue with the whole of Round 3 planned to be finished today. The event is LIVE and on NOW so check it out. Dane Reynolds is first up against Ben Dunn with Rob Machado, Kelly Slater and Joel Parkinson all still in contention and in the water today.

"We still have some pretty fun surf on offer this morning so we'll be getting underway at 8am," Pat O'Connell, Hurley Pro Trestles Contest Director, said. "The idea is to complete Round 3 so we'll have one full day remaining, and we can cherry pick the last day we want to finish on. We'll be completing Round 3 before running the expression session today."

Day 2 Highlights

For most surfers Trestles is the kind of wave they love to surf, long, consistent and not too performance. Is it really suitable for the world's elite? And if it wasn't located in the heart of the surf industry would it still be on the Dream Tour's list? The answer to that is a moot point as the contest isn't going anywhere, plus it gives the surfers the chance to launch and bring in some new school variations. Just so long as the judges score them correctly with a few dodgy decisions going down on day one.

Swell Check

So what's the forecast outlook for the event? It seems unlikely to go flat but will become less consistent, staying in the waits to shoulder range, until the weekend at least when a decent long period swell is forecast to arrive. The one interesting proposition is the above 50 percent likelihood of a tropical storm developing just south of Baja. Keep your eyes pinned HERE and if it develops into a swell producing hurricane we will be covering it in full. However for it to have any real impact it needs to hurry up and develop as after today only one more day will be needed to finish the event.
