ANTHONY Walsh doesn't do contests unless they have barrels, he's the modern gypsy, the itinerant storm chaser. Fresh back from Indo he's already repacking for a Body Glove boardshort shoot in Tahiti. Walshy is that 2.0 surfer, eschewing the WQS drudge to carve out a niche inside the world's deepest tubes, capturing it all on a Go Pro and posting it on the web for his bread and butter. This is where he's audited for success by his sponsors. "Put it this way" Says Walshy "The numbers I get on the internet hopefully outweigh any magazine or WQS result." He didn't spend much time in Indo, it was a holiday with his partner Crystal and 19-month-old son Damien. "At that age quick holidays are better" he laughs. "I go to Java because it's one of the nicest places in Indo with no-one around and pumping waves."
