to be fair, it wasnt quite as epic as it looks , really long lulls , pretty busy, but it did get a bit bigger after the pic was taken

Well I was just down at the 'Ho! that evening and it was the best I've seen it for a lonnng time. Eerily long gaps between sets, never seen it like that before.
kernowbysvyken May 20, 2009 Rating: 1
not as epic as it looks, sound like everytime I've surfed Croyde.

Please don't post pics like this, for me to view whilst at work. It makes me sick. Due to work I have missed out on SOOO much surf this year. Boo hoo
BANGER May 18, 2009 Rating: 1

Swell came early this day - meant only 4 guys out at my local spot - 5 hours of 3 foot super glass. if only we had just one day like this per week. when the conditions are right, i still maintain that the UK delivers great waves. Plus its even more rewarding for us islanders that struggle through onshores, 6 mil rubber, hoods and fucking awful traffic jsut to get into brown waters. There is a reason why this is called GREAT Britain and we are IT.

Surfers that side are definitely more committed than most. Going out in cold shitty conditions to surf waves that most here would not even bother riding. Seriously you guys deserve a good day a week like teets was talking about for braving the cold etc like you guys do. I complain when it drops below 20 degrees.

couldnt be more gutted. had the whole of friday off as i knew the surf was going to be good, then turns hard core on shore!! what a shitter. still cracking pic.
BANGER May 18, 2009 Rating: 1
i'm fucking devastated...couldn't get down to the coast this wknd...I knew it was gonna be epic...I tried my best not to think about the waves I could have had. I am now at work looking at this perfect photo almost in tears... SHITHOUSE.
clickclick23 May 18, 2009 Rating: 1
makes you wonder why we pay all that money to go abroad to surf...
Spongerdudette May 19, 2009 Rating: 1
Ok so we don't have brilliant weather all year round, but I still think that you are being a bit on the harsh side to say it's hell. Are you having a bad day?:)
Shorey May 19, 2009 Rating: 0
You say bitterness i say honesty. Summer is nice but the rest of the year is just plain crap.
PJ Smith May 17, 2009 Rating: 0
Wow..looks like a nice easy paddle out plus you can never diss pure glass!!!
Danos May 17, 2009 Rating: -1
Sorry to put a bit of a downer on this awesome photo, but as you all know photos can be deceiving..... And many photos i have of the west coast, look awesome... however the surf lacks punch and the sets rarely hold up.... Wasn't there on this day, and gutted i missed it.... Roll on Bali....
el-surfo May 17, 2009 Rating: 1
after a summer down there, you never forget how amazing woolacombe really is...this is testament to that!

Beautiful sets, i was there at 8AM and Croyde at 6PM! 2 hour sessions, couldn't get enough! fuckin glorious. funny this was my leash snapped at Croyde because the sets were deffo a bit bigger than that.
