It is shot with an EF600 from the rocks on the side of the bay, probably standing about 8 feet above the water level. It was a good size on the sets that day, not too many out which is rare for Polzeath. I got down to the beach for about 7.30am that morning and could barely see the surf for a sea mist. I tried shooting the 3 guys that were out for 1/2 an hour and it looked like it was going to get worse so I gave in and I was going to go for a surf. As I walked up the beach the mist cleared so I set up on the other side of the bay and got this shot. I got a surf later that evening which was still a good size so a good day all round!

Nice shot 360, has a nice sense of scale to it. It’s got that whole shallow depth of field thingymagig going on so he looks like a scale model…..I’m getting vibes of a Subbuteo goaly crouching to save a penalty?? Don’t think much to their away kit. Or their groundsman’s handy work….the pitch is well lumpy.

Good observations there VP. I think that you deserve a cuppa and a cake.

If not Subbuteo then maybe a tractor driver from a model railway diorama, he’s got the seating position for sure and looks like he’s reaching to change gear.
