yes surfboards cannot handle the shockwaves deep inner barrel. the air bubbles make do the fins useless. the bodyboard is much superior surf craft.

This is a pretty solid wave,and its thick too. S-turns is no sissy spot at this size. Wouldn't be surprised if this lip to the head snapped this guys board in two and sent him to the beach for a bit of a breather.

You are correct ... but then, being an east coast surfer, we tend to get excited by any wave you have to look up at to see the lip.
