My dad bodysurfed sandy back in the 70's b4 he went bald...and was kewl...and had a gut...and ended up going to the hospital to have excess sand removed from his ears!
This reminds me of Tolcarne beach on the 22nd August this year at high tide. I never made it out back so i just sat on the shore and watched the spongers having a ball in the carnage
I as well body surfed and skimboarded Sandy's for years. I agree I never have seen like this? I am an "Old School" Sandy Beach Boy. I used to Skim for Team Sandy Beach Skimboards!

That is an incredible photo. Looks terrible though, why would you want to surf or be able to surf those conditions? If its not clean, don't bother is what I say!
ally's telling the truth...my parents lived there before I was born, spoongers only, beleive it or not Oceanside, Cali favors bodyboarders allowing them to hit it next to the pier during the morining and mid day while surfers have to hit it during the evening/nite...
I've not been there, but from the looks of this, the guy up top is not really going over the falls. There are two waves here: one going in; one going out. He's probably not being driven in too fast, if at all. At the wedge body boarders are sometimes just thrown straight up when the incoming wave meets a big reflection. This pic was just timed brilliantly. There are other pics from here that look unsurvivable, when in fact they're not bad at all.
reflection? .. ha ha yeah I see what yer mean. still , thats one big high pressure sand blasting dishwasher. They should throw old car bodies into this shorebreak when they need the paint stripped/// And then pass them onto West Coast Graphics to finish off.
rated for the West Coast Customs reference. Made me laugh. Get Xzibit and Westwood in there, hopefully Westwood would get his zimmer frame stuck in the sand and not make it out.
