really pleased you all enjoyed the image & glad it has generated some debate. The guys who surfed & shot this were a pleasure to work with & lets face it, if you are lucky enough to get a bomb like this its worth putting up with a bit of local abuse!!
just to add my 2 pennith - i have had some excellent times in Morrocco, nice people, relatively chilled but i echo moby...the little kids are right fuckers and always have to show off etc...its like "lets burn the foreigner day" every day with them. the only little teensy bit of aggro i got was when i put a banan skin ont he roof of our hire car and some dickstain jumped out his relatively brand new beamer (very rare for a Moco to have a beamer , so he was obviously royalty or someting) and he started haranguing me about littering 'his country'. I pointed out he was standing in a dog shit and that the whole are was a shanty town of sorts with raw sewage running in trickles down onto the beach about 2 yards away (seriously i kid you not dont surf if its rained in Moco). he got all huffy and threatened to 'get the locals' so i ignored him and jsut drove to a different break. I guess i jsut feel sorry for people like that!!
Marocco,Well After sprnding 2 Months there in 1983 the surfing was a side issue.I had a love/Hate relationship with that place,im glad to have got out in one piece,MAN!I wont begin to share my expiriances,I still have flashbacks of being druged,robbed.chassed,kniffed and spat at,ok it was the fasting month but.......

Like most places there is a balance between idiots and cool people. Its just a shame we tend to let the idiots get to us and create a bad memory of an otherwise good trip. I have met some of the nicest locals in Morocco, but also seen complete gimps shouting and screaming at people. There tends to be a trend that the better, more mature surfers are cool or at least don't give out the agro. The comment below by Z boy is good. We should learn to stand our ground a bit with the idiots....although I am guilty of just getting pissed off with it all and getting out....
crystal cathedral if it was like this id go to church all the time very good photo ( localism if u go for wave and its a sponger run him over and you have to stand up to them if you get a beating then you get one but in genral they only hard in groups or all mouth get some balls hold your ground get back out there)
how about i wait for the moment when your struggling out of your wetsuit in the carpark and run you and your resin 8 over in my car. that would be far funnier
The real Locals were cool when i was there,There was just this one french gimp(who happens too run a surf camp) who was being a massive prick,His attitude far out weighed his talent though,total kook
i dont get why people throw rocks... it just makes them look more like an idiot, there's a point where i live, all the locals there do that crap... dont get it. they could be surfing instead. waste of time, and cowardly...

Fun wave for sure and a heavy one too, though whats said about locals being aggressive they are only like that if you diss-respect them, usualy they dont mind if you turn up and surf. Like anywhere in the world localism is normal and you just have to D E A L with it ;)
Nice wave. Sorry to hear Moby's story about the local surfers can be idiots. Glad to hear the land dwellers are cool. I think implying Moby disrespected the locals is being a little unfair unless you were there with him
The problem I had at Safi was caused by one young bodyboarder. I was trying to keep myself to myself and certainly wasn't snaking or being aggro. This kid deliberately dropped in on me three times. I tried being polite and not rising to it but he obviously just had a chip on his shoulder. The next time he dropped in on me I just kept going, so he told his bigger friends that I had disrespected him. When I got out the idiot actually threw stones at me! What can you do?
Although Safi has amazing waves it also has pretty dodgy water quality and one or two very unsavoury and aggressive local surfers. (The non-surfers were cool as cucumbers). When I went there 6 years ago I lost a stone in weight from three days of pooing through the eye of a needle. Got a few class waves too.
Go on over, crowd out their line up and have rocks thrown at you!
what a crap picture of a small wave!! the surf is soo pumping here and nobodies in the lineup, why would anyone want to go anywherelse!
by not bothered theres been no surf for weeks.
