hell yeah, Exit stage right!...... I dont think his leash was that long to begin with....surfing big waves tends to stretch them a little teensy bit. Besides he is probably loving it, launching like that is just awesome but make sure not to belly flop! or let the lip smack your nuts as you try to clear it. so props to the surfer and photographer.... All you nay-sayers can blow it out your nose.
Hmm, all the people saying stuff like: hes in for a world of hurt...or his board will snap back and bla bla bla. Have any of you ever bailed over the top of a wave?? He should have "just taken the fall" are you freakin serious?? Thats ridiculous, especially because he has enough air and momentum to carry himself far enough from the back of the cresting wave to likely end up plopping in the water on the inside completely unscaved. He probably won't get carried over the falls and he most certainly won't get hit by his board because he'll be under water when it gets back to him. Only thing this guy has to worry about is the next set wave coming behind him. Come on people, this is not an unusual circumstance.
I agree with everything you said there westmonster. And I gave you another +1 for clarity of thought and expression and obvious experience...not that you needed any MORE points! You did misspell unscathed though, fella. Sorry...I can't help it. Please don't hurt me! I'm an American too!
will this one close out...I'm not sure.... looks alright....sh*t its big....could be my best wave ever.....yep it's going to shut down....nope it's a good un....ok i'm going....................bugger!
Somethings wrong here... board... 8ft away... guy falling... above the wave... HOW THE F@#% did he get up there?... hes in for a world of hurt, or maybe hes going to get lucky and hit water before the board comes flying back, or maybe his leash will snap.
Its not that they're lazy. The reason you see people towing in on somewhat smaller waves is mainly because of a strong rip...right where its breaking. Try paddeling in on a double-overhead with a 10knot rip pulling you over the face and you'd take another thought at it.
