Thankully that puts a lot of people off surfing it. My mate and I surfed it all morning one day with not another soul out there....sick!

Yes it's cold, yes the sea is brown and yes there are some lengthy flat spells. But it's never too cold, and i couldnt give a rats ass what colour the water was it could be day-glo fuckin' pink for all i care. And the flat spells are not nearly as long as you think. And at least when a tiny swell does runs you can bet your ass it'll be off shore AGAIN! I live in N'Wales and rate the East coast for quality of surf, variety of waves and friendliness of the locals higher than anywhere else.

All I know is that looks really nice. I'm not even a goofy foot and I'd love a go at that.

For all you ignorant twats that dont rate the North East coast, thats just fine with us, it may not be as good as often as the south west but when is good its worth waiting for.... Enjoy your crowds, summer holiday slater wannabes and surf school BIC bandits.

Heya KJ. Better waves through the Winter I take it Yorkshire way? Im a Kiwi in Southampton - made a bad choice I think as Bournemouth isnt quite the one, hence reg trips to Woolacombe. Rags is def up there on its day.

Oh and bugs, I like what you've done by adding Thomas to my tag name to make Kiwi John Thomas. Did you think of that all on your own or did you need someone to help you. Bless!

I learnt to surf at Piha so that tops Raglan for me, but I'm happy with my favorite little bay about 10 miles south of Bamburgh Castle.
Kaptain Kook Nov 2, 2009 Rating: 0
So what is it then John? Cayton or Raglan? How much of a Kiwi are ya?
indojoe Nov 2, 2009 Rating: 2

Greg Noll is a god Nov 2, 2009 Rating: -2
water is about 10-12degrees. 5mm wetsuit, boots and gloves needed if you want to stay in the water for any length of time. Which by the looks of will it would be all day..
lozza Nov 2, 2009 Rating: -2
looks like it breaks like raglan only a bit better would love to give it a bash sometime !
SUPERSTOKED Nov 2, 2009 Rating: -2
better than raglan? please, this spot looks sick, but raglan on an all time day is almost unbeatable
scott rogerson Nov 2, 2009 Rating: -1
SW is ok if beachbreaks are your thing - if you want some grunt then NE and Scotland pretty much run shit
Benny boy Nov 1, 2009 Rating: 3

scott rogerson Oct 29, 2009 Rating: 0

you're f*#&ing kidding me! this is yorkshire...?? why have i been wasting all the years in the south west... AMAZING!!
jugglia Nov 2, 2009 Rating: -2
Yeah, amazing shot. Next time I'm up North this spot will definitely be in the back of my mind.
Mikepike Nov 2, 2009 Rating: -2
Because it only gets good on rare occasions up on the east side north coast dip stick! But if you wanna up sticks and leave, sacrifice the southwest allround breaks for the odd occasional working point break in Yorkshire, by all means, be my guest. Could do with a few less plonkers in the water down here...
