Yes the sticker looks like a estate agents sign and completely distracts from any of the tech merits of the shot.
All freelance surf photogs need to stand up to the rest of the industry who have been ripping us off for years. I think I will start to shop out the logos until we get some respect.
I am sure Quicksilver do love it, and I'm sure he is getting paid. Look at that board, the other stickers, the fact that he's photographed ripping....that guy looks sponsored to me.
ooh cold water surfer, you sound like a surf photographer whos been hit hard by the credit crunch.. if you get bitter enough you could always start shopping peoples stickers out.
Nope, they've (the surf industry in general) always been tighter than a badgers wotsit when it comes to paying for anything. You really have to love freezing your nuts off on a rock, beach or in the water, watching everybody else having a ball to be a UK based surf photographer these days. Nice idea about removing stickers in photoshop but I doubt the surfer wouldn't be bollocked by his sponsors. Letting somebody have a "trade price" board as their deal and not having your stickers on it, they'd have a fit...
