its not until you see the other shots from this place that you can really tell how big that wave is.

thanks, this was a very big wave....the wave in the foreground is the beach break, and the other sunset reef, a long way out in the bay, with no-one out....just a different view of an ever changing landscape..

Dungeons is lapa side, there by the mountains in the background... The wave out back is Sunsets Reef, with Long Beach in the foreground ;)

I grew up in the area as well and also never seen a shark at any of the Kom breaks, but I did see a monster white shark at Dunes once and just around the corner is Noordhoek where that English guy was eaten a few years ago, so I guess there must be some sharks in the area... Nothing like False Bay though (on the otherside of the peninsula). Seen PLENTY there... PS: awesome shot - doesnt look like sunsets. this normally break much further out, but looking at the other pics it might be with just a weird camera angle...

this is sunset reef, through a 400mm lense though, and taken on a day when the ocean was wild, with breaking waves everywhere..

Dude there are more sharks on land than in the water. I grew up surfing this spot and seen no sharks other than on the land like I said. Peace!
