Until a couple of days ago I'd have agreed with you, but most body heat escapes through the head, having a hood means you can stay out for longer with warmer feet and fingers than those without. I'm now officially a 'Hoodie'.

Also, i cant handle wearing a hood... they just piss me off too much. Cant hear, they fill up, sometimes even spin round....

Reeaally!? In 16 years, i have never even thought about it. Does that actually work? Any more tips? I find that the colder you are before you get in the sea, the less painful the head. Thats way those sunny winter days are a bitch, because your head warms up in-between waves.

Yeah looking down definitely helps. Seems some times tho that nothing you do prevents the ice flush. Especially a wipeout like you said.

Na dude, I agree with you. Hoods can definitely be necessary. Just wish they'd invent one that didn't fill up every time you took a crucial duck dive...I hate the feeling of ice water surrounding my head, unless its when I'm trying to shake myself out of a hangover.

Until a couple days ago I'd have agreed with you, but most body heat escapes through the head and having a hood means you can stay out for longer with warmer fingers + toes than those without. Call me a pussy, but I'm now officially a 'Hoody with a woody'. Leven Rocks!!
