Takes some balls to surf that wave with a reef that shallow !

Got seriously pounded out there... Was surfing Shipwreks with a bunch of people & noticed Razors was empty, I latter understood why... Massive, dangerous, shallow wave, plus if you ad freaksets...

Nice shot, is it really razors?! u take this from a boat?
jason f. Feb 13, 2010 Rating: 1
it´s most definitely razors. i took the shot from a boat in the channel @ shipwrecks with a 400mm lens

Having said that I don't think it is razors cos the cliff at the back is wat too close and theres lacerationsand playgrounds and a jetty to fit in before the cliff.

Can only be razors really. One of those bonkers waves you surf cos you have little else to do on lembongan. You have to have the skill to pull out or break through the back of the wave in the barrel as it closes out (pretty much every time) when riding or your on pretty much dry coral. Although I saw some crazy safis pulling airs there and at lacerations. Any way why ride razors when ther are 4 other superb breaks.

the break is called razors, in between shipwrecks and lacerations on nusa lembongan. it´s pretty well known but extremely hard to surf
jason f. Feb 12, 2010 Rating: 0
heaps of razor sharp seaweed sticks. it can also get very shallow...
westmonster Feb 12, 2010 Rating: -1
I can see a bit of what you mean, looks like it might throw some critical sections along its duration. What else makes it hard to surf tho?

There's an area in the Mentatwais called Playgrounds with about 5 or 6 different waves, maybe it's there.
Baboon Barrels Feb 12, 2010 Rating: 1
Playgrounds have swings and roundabouts and see saws, I see no see saws!
Jeroen Feb 11, 2010 Rating: 1
Most def not playgrounds... If it would be.. Tubes at lancerations or shipwreck would fit a hotel.
MisterD Feb 12, 2010 Rating: 2
On the other side of the reef... in front of shipwreck I ve seen some grinding lefts... Could it be that? Could the picture taker tell us more or he found a break that he wants to remain secret
tulamben Feb 12, 2010 Rating: 0
playgrounds can get gnarly on a large swell and a mid tide..on a rare day it could be! Lacerations is a right so cant be that.. could be razors on the other side of lacerations opposite shiprecks

love to be at that playground. my local playground has 62inches of snow, barely drivable conditions, and the worst snow removal system on the face of the earth. thank god i go to school in the middle of hicksville Pennsylvania, where i'm 3 hours from the nearest wave, and 3 minutes from the nearest Amish village. (sarcasm)
andrew powder Feb 12, 2010 Rating: -2
Yeah man, fortunately I do what most people do in the NE and take advantage of the snow, but i'd rather be surfing, even if i'm getting hit by snowballs.
westmonster Feb 12, 2010 Rating: -1
Haha, I know what you mean. I'm stuck in Westminster, MD right now. Total snow fall for this area so far this winter: around 80 some inches. Sux, totally bogus.
