This is very explainable....happens all the time down by me......what you do is tell the nearest sup'er where this amazing wave is.....now being a sup'er he has to go and take it.....'cause that's what they do.....and bingo, one less sup'er.....hahah!!!!LOL...that dosn't really happen by the way....hehe.......but I reacon it did in this case..
