this is somewhat like the shot i was talking about carpe!! except he was down the line a bit and pointing the camera towards the barrel and falling at the same time.

yea. he was to far inside and before he knew it, was caught in the oceans fury and got tossed.

So as you see the whole sequence, you can tell he's falling because the angle it's shot from is changing?

OHHHHH MATE!!!! That shot is stunning Carpe!! You got a knack of capturing a whole lotta motion. I can really feel the wave throwing out and capturing the duck dive in there too is quality photog timing. i hope you're getting some recognition for some of these shots. +5 add to faves... again. my faves look like im stalking you...

Thanks man! I'm so happy that you dig the shots! Good motivation for me.

entering the fast lane - going to pop out back of wave, like a cork out a bottle!

Yes! Love that feeling of almost going over the falls. Effortless duck.

About to take that lip as an enema, in a split second he's about to have a gallon of the pacific hiding up beyond his ring!

My buddy Maiola and I were paddling for the same wave at Pupukea sandbar. I wanted the right and he wanted the left, but we were on the wrong sides, we were heading straight towards each other. We didn't really realize what was happening until it was too late. I had a decent angle so I went over the falls (with the lip) and he went into the barrel under the falls, and we both made our waves. So, I guess it wouldn't be the first time I'd gone over the falls over someone. lol

To see this view, you've already seen a little piece of heaven. Actually, I guess the paddle out isn't that easy. Maybe a little bit of hellish current to get to heaven.
