Just spent the whole of August on the Llyn including May half term & Easter.the Llyn has many secret spots and has the potnetial to be put on the map in more specific locations and not refered to simply as "Hells mouth." Nice pic.

One day in August travelling around the Llyn I found that places like Aberdaron can offer a decent wave yet only a couple or so guys out there doing a bit. On the same day the mouth was blown out and messy with lots of people in the water. I guess its down to the individual, seek and you shall find. I agree with that dude.

Daz you're right in one sense but I disagree with another: the Llyn is of an extraordinary beautiful that is hard to find in our current era of modernisation. However placing more spots on the 'tragicseaweed' map just merely to distinguish between photos is simply not worth destroying the secluded tranquility of these places. If its for the customised report - equally, MSW does not have to knowledge to understand or care how these tiny little fickle spots work. Leave it in peace I think mate, and I'm sure you agree...

Wow...This place looks way to mellow to be called "Hell's Mouth"

Thats because this isn't hells mouth - look at some of the other photos on here - particularly ones of a certain wedge break around the area...

WOW! I certainly spoke too soon! Thank you everyone for the responses! It wasn't chasing front page glory so much as sharing a picture (taken by my good friend Palmer) that might inspire people to get out there a little more - exploration is absolutely one of my favourite aspects of our culture/sport/living :) As for localism, I have to say that I've never surfed this place with 'locals' (a tricky definition in North Wales-I usually take it to mean 'live on the Llyn') - as I mentioned in the other photograph is doesn't often get good but can be neat when it does! Cheers again all, diolch yn fawr!

Beautiful photo. A portrait of nature in all its splendor. The fact that it is crowdless is a miracle. Best of luck with that.

Jesus - what a pic! Just stunning. Reminds me of those summer days when it's super crowded, then last thing - when it gets darker and high tide, you sneak back for your mal and grab that last secret half hour! 5 star!

Haha!! Nice thought there iammilitia; except that this was winter, no mal (not enough £!) and bloody cold! (but very well worth it!). But well agreed - dodging summer crowds is VERY satisfying; particularly in cornwall when the masses truly descend upon the water

Looks lovely, & empty...! Perfect way to end the day, if only I knew where this was (and would be welcomed by the 'locals') which I doubt would happen "you're not from round these parts! so get lost!" etc etc.

There are few spots which are uncrowded these days and naturaly locals get pissed off when hoards of emmets descend upon them. Im not for localism but I can understand it. Especially living in Newquay, where the population at least triples in the summer :/

No disrespect to the locals in this area in particular, just localism in general can be bloody small minded & annoying, esp for those of us not fortunate to live by the coast...

You really need to put a 'Kookoo' watermark over it, always adds a nice effect IMHO..........

Mint shot Kookoo, don’t worry about the voting….A piece of ass in the foreground usually does the trick though if its front page glory you’re after

Thank you! Not to sound too downbeat but this picture has sadly not atracted as much notice as the last one - even though in my opinion it is a better photograph. Ah well, maybe thats a good thing in some ways! :)
