Its a custom made mirror...experimenting with sunrise, sunset shots to get more light-color inside the wave. I don't know how it worked out but i am curious to see the shots. Oh and this is just a straight up photo, no funny biz.

i agree with the baboon...... im not really feeling this whole partial hdr style RAW file manipulation that is becoming so popular at the minute.... but i am interested in whatever that thing is the dude has on his rig cos its new on me too.....! no idea what it could be, i've defo not seen any diffusers that look like that!

I was wondering the same thing. The only thing I can think of is either it's a type of flash diffuser or it's to reduce the glare from the sun / reflections off the water. I take water shots too and I have never seen this before. Anyone know what it is?
