You see on the far left, there is this lip, kind of like a curtain. If you are on a wave and you ride behind this "curtain" it is known as getting "barrelled". You dont have to be on your board like in the photo but you sure as hell have to be inside the barrel. I take it you are not a sponger.

Start flapping your arms dude. May not help that much but your remaining options for a 'textbook landing' are limited. Had a similar incident myself in 2ft Llangennith. Seriously though, cracking shot, these dudes got more backbone on show than a dinosaur museum. Much respect

I felt a bit violated at Holywell too, its called Park Dean Holiday flats, and they're sh*te... the surf was good though, and very beautiful area.
