it is true that this swell was not all that it was expected to be...but this is a good photo of what must have been one of the set waves cos they were comming in but you just had to wait for them. im a photographer myself, although cant do surf photography because always want to be in the water while taking photos and this shot a darn sight better than a lot of stuff that goes up on here big respect

You have amazing potential and I cant wait to see more of your work! Take Care xxx

Hey Hannah, I commented on it first, and I was paying it compliments! I reckon you must be thinking of somebody else. Anyway where did you go instead that day? there must have been some pretty perfect little peelers round at Western or Harlyn or somewhere like that. BTW Photog man. Is that guys name really Bushrod? I was thinking of changing my name to that. But I won't if somebody's already claimed it.

This is not fistral on fri,nor is it fistral on sat...lol i was out both days, and although it was clean and off-shore,it was no where near this size shown in the pics, nor did the hurricane danille swell match up to expectations...shame it wasnt cos i would of tore it up,but it was ok all the same....Why do ppl post BS photos? Dont get it!

This was probably a good long fast ride with a closing section at the end. And the RESPECT is all for what this dude did with it. In this country it's pretty rare that you see somebody killing it like that, instead of taking the easy option of kicking out and saving a couple of duckdives. What da funk though? the close out statement was funny why doesn't everyone just see the funny side?

Right for starters people who put "lol" in the middle of a sentence should have their opinion taken away from them straight away for being what is basically called "brain dead". Secondly, I have surfed all over the place including Samoa, Portugal, SA, France, West coast US and frankly I reckon when a good swell comes through the UK its better than the rest due to the anticipation and communal joy. We don't get that many solid swells so why not hype it up when its corduroy to the horizon and offshore. Plus it wasn't closed out everywhere as is evidenced by all the photos on this site from the days in question, maybe if you hadn't been tracking some front in the South Pacific dreaming about charging perfect 40ft Teahupoo you would have realised that. Grow up.

alright mate, youre obviously an amazing surfer who spends your life chasing 40ft waves across the globe because youre far too good to surf these pathetic waves in the UK. Unfortunately the rest of us arent millionaires who can go jetting off to tropical islands so when a few decent waves do come to our shores, yeah we do get excited and enjoy them. Im so so sorry!

How could you not like a photo of a wave like that taken in the UK?!?
KernowDoc Sep 5, 2010 Rating: 3
I had a similar experience at Watergate on the same day. Unfortunately I ended up putting my teeth through my bottom lip courtesy of kissing the rail. 10 stitches later and my mouth is waterproof again! Bonus.
