Carpe: Man such a beautiful day... i got my camera... balls of steel, nothing cud go wrong!! Wave: Oh Snap son Its Carpe!!! Gonna try and look my best for him. As the wave approaches... you can hear the shaft theme song playing , and before the wave crashes over Carpe, turns around snaps this photo. this is what happens when u work 48 hours straight ppl!

Thanks for the awesome comments! There were some solid 5 and 6 foot sets coming in. So I guess around 10 -11 foot faces? I was so excited about the first swell of the season, I hit three sessions the first day. Body board, shoot, body board. The next morning I headed back to the shore break because I saw the sun peaking out. It just happened to come out from behind those clouds for a few shots. This was one. I thought it looked so dramatic. My feet had blisters from the day before so I taped them, this didn't work, so I took the fins off. It was right on the shore pretty much so I just planted and shot. What a thrill it was almost getting sucked over on some of the bombs. Turns out, you lose a lot of thrust without fins. haha. I had to rescue a woman the day before. She decided that this looked like a fun place to swim out with no fins on. As soon as she swam out, a solid 6 foot set came. She went over the falls on it! She was just a little bit shooken up. I grabbed her hand and ducked a couple with her and then helped her get to shore where she quickly ran up the sand hill. Yew!
