OK. Shooting the pier is one thing...this is getting out-of-hand though.

In case your wondering, that's the prototype oceanlinx wave energy converter. Its a huge floating chamber, waves oscillates up and down in side acting a huge diaphragm pushing and sucking air through a turbine at the top to generate electricity from the surf. But it sunk!... a very sad day for wave renewable energy :(

Thanks Kapoww...Been wondering if we'd ever find out what that really is. Sad indeed about it coming unmoored...but Our Mother Ocean is always overwhelming the best laid plans. Back to the drawing board...http://www.oceanpowermagazine.net/2010/05/17/oceanlinx-wave-generator-breaks-free-of-pylons-and-crashes-into-breakwall-at-port-kembla-australia/.......http://www.wavec.org/client/files/08_Nathan_Faulks.pdf

France, digging the cross channel tunnel from their side. realized they had made a slight miscalculation and ended up a little south of their target

Great photo! That wreck helps the sand build up and makes sand bars and the waves break better. We have breaks in NC that do the same only the shipwrecks are under water. It looks like a camera lens for a giant from some lost world.

It's somewhat scary how much New South Wales resembles Old North Wales...

Is that the cannon you use Soutie?

HE could probably use a girdle tho'.;-)

Don’t think Soutie’s ‘cannon’ needs a girder to take the weight
