How'zit Chalkie! Forever! I dont know. The problem on that one was the pressure from the wave smashing me and I went deep.I didnt went far out from the impact zone. And when i pop up there was anoher wave realy close.Thanks God I were with 2 lifevests otherwise I would have 2 waves hold down! Another breath and another wave. this guy's 30 feet deep in a 20 foot tube, foamball inevitably catches up, knocks board out from under him, he hit the face of this horizontal tornado and shoots up and over the falls with enough speed to pop partially out. this happens in waves 1/4 that size. most barrels pulled into end like this!!

I have my doubts about how he actually arrived at this spot on the wave. He would have had to punch up from the tube, bust through the lip and have enough momentum to come up above the lip?? Or did he tow in late and therefor on purpose because if it was late tow he could have backed out surely. Usually when you go over the falls from a late take off, you are at the first part of the lip to hit the water, not here...and standing up too?? Would love to hear from the shooter where this guy was.

Just had an amazing idea following all the fake or real comments. The photographers need to slap a moustache on the surfers in some of their pictures; either photoshopping one on or sneaking a false moustache on the upper lip of an unsuspecting surfer before they go in the water. Upload the picture to MSW and we can all sit around shouting FAKE or REAL. I’ll get the ball rolling: PJ’s ‘tache in the Llangennith photo… REAL (it is, I’ve seen it. He hides a pistol in there for emergencies. Get well soon Peej). Brilliant!

I've gone over the falls like that on a wave that big or maybe not that big. Probably wasn't that big but it seemed that big. Wht don't they have big wave contests here? If they do then good.

this is definitely a fake. His colors are wrong, he is out of focus, he is far too far out of the water, and the only way he could get there without a trace behind him is through the lip, and i highly doubt that. How this made pic of the day, i have no idea?

This photos been croped . In the sequence shots on neils studio photography website (which seems to have been designed for some kind of projector screen as it is huge ) Anyrate the sequence shot shows this photo with 2 jet skis coming into the right top portion of the picture . next picture shows their trail as the have moved further into position on the next shot . Why the legend in question has a different colour top on though beets me .Is it real or is it fake or otherwise both only one must have one OATH

Ready for the Science lesson: When travelling in a circular motion (no doubt this surfer is) you will experience a force away from the pivot. Size of this force depends on your velocity and on a wave this size your speed would be much faster than on the smaller waves we usually see wipeouts on. The only thing that will stop you being thrown out of circular motion is a centripetal force holding you in to the centre. The centripetal force in this case is provided by friction from the water. Looks like this friction has only just held him this time. Theoretically, if the wave is moving fast enough then it could throw you completely out. Who said Physics isn't fun?!!!

Pretty sure it's real localislekker. I thought it was a jet ski that got too close and got sucked over at first. Then, after checking the linked photo gallery pic sequence leading up to this...the shirt colors WERE different. But the guy with the light blue shirt and WHITE board in pic# 6759 isn't the one who ate it. There is no pic# 6760. Pic #s 6761-6764 show the wipeout splash high on the wave face...and a YELLOW board...but not the guy. Being sucked over the falls, as shown in pic#6765, may have been unavoidable on a wave this big...whether he tried to avoid it by diving deep...or not. Glad it wasn't me.
