I don't see any jetski wake from the guy riding the second wave. It looks like he paddled into that monster? legit.
Jim MSW Apr 4, 2011 Rating: 1
i think he would get the record for the worlds biggest paddle in on the worlds shortest board.

Epic. From the memories pictures like this invoke, you can try to imagine the sort of feeling the Guys surfing a sesion like that must be feeling. Fantastic Phot.

Portpipe Mar 31, 2011 Rating: 1

"yeah ma, i need to borrow this knife, poor deer got it's hoof stuck in the grill there"
stoneage Mar 31, 2011 Rating: -8
ok, i know nothing of maui, but this looks suspiciously photoshopped. First off, the waves seem to come at totally different angles, also no waves between the two pictured and no whitewater indicating waves previous to the outside wave... am i wrong here?

I bet the groom's happy with the barrel he just got on the inside but when he sees the best-mans bomb left behind him,he's gonna be dirty! Great shot!It shows the arena in a different perspective and just how much is really going on out there!
Zippy Mar 31, 2011 Rating: 1
all these lads charging jaws etc just have no idea, obviously a few on this site would do a much better job
chma Mar 31, 2011 Rating: 0
The lip gets a little windy for a while before it breaks when it's that big. However, it is still facking nuts.
Humie Mar 30, 2011 Rating: 1
is it just the camera angle or is that second wave like 5 times bigger than the first?
Diederik Mar 30, 2011 Rating: -1
the one in the front is thinking he's surfing a big wave ; voice in his head: don't look behind you
Inglorious Landlocked Basterd Mar 30, 2011 Rating: 0
Awesome ! Do you think some wider objective could possibly capture the whole thing (I mean the background wave's lip and all of the foreground wave as well) ? Or is Jaws too big for that ?

Awesome shot, great angle. You do your wedding shots from a helicopter?
the vanity project Apr 3, 2011 Rating: 0
I live in Holland…I take my shots from ground level….I would take photos from a cliff….if provided
Wincy Mar 31, 2011 Rating: 0
errr compared to most people, who choose to walk when a helicopter is provided
MauiT Mar 30, 2011 Rating: 0
I know John...he's an excellent artist and talented photographer. He took this from the cliff...what a day! He would take from a heli, if provided.
CatEmpire Mar 30, 2011 Rating: 0
