Really nice image, Jason. Some people are satisfied with a shot of a dot sliding down the face of a gigantic wave; I prefer something of this sort, where the actual drama and supreme athleticism of surfing is fully realized...something that captures and personifies the visceral intensity that the surfer experiences while "merging" with the wave. I'm personally inclined to perceive that as the central "story" of surfing; and I think that it's the obligation of the photographer -- as a genuine display of the respect that you have for a given surfer -- to bring that as close to photographic perfection as your own expression of personal skills allows you to get. The surfer contributed his efforts, here, and you certainly responded correctly, and held up your end of the enterprise. A remarkable shot. It instantly grabbed me. A very, very fine job.

Weve all seen a million shots of Bruce shacked of his nuts , but this one captures the circus surrounding the break and its vip celebrity guest ,an added bonus a boat called BINTANG ! How good is that ? Also If you really feel the need to study a dudes straining body torque you can ZOOM your guts out on that FAB bare 6 pack, which reminds me 2 too go ! Yew
