Reverse Skeg drop in, not sure the judges would score that highly on such a manouvere these days.

Full credit to the dude getting shacked. He must have seen this way down the line and thought "f**k it, im pulling in anyway" Even possible death is out weighed by a good barrell.
BuzyG Jun 16, 2011 Rating: -1
Nutter! he's got to be no more than 5 ft from a deck full of barrel and a sinking.
kook1 Jun 16, 2011 Rating: 1

alan_ronan Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 0
there are situations where you should think about something else than giving a high five
fluiddruid Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 3
anyone else thinking the boat might not quite make it over what looks to be a monster behind this wave!???
Ratbag Jun 15, 2011 Rating: -1
That boat is primed to gun it and pull of a huge off the lip reo! Could probly even toss the skegs out the back wall if he times it well. Go for it mofo!
the vanity project Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 16
Anybody out there remember how to do trigonometry? We might finally be able to settle how to measure wave height accurately at last.
the vanity project Jun 27, 2011 Rating: 0
ooooh get you Porty with the mathlete knowledge bomb, someone’s had their frosted lucky charms today
soutie Jun 16, 2011 Rating: 2

Also looks like the Dude barrelling alongside of him is about to catch some prop "wash".
Harv Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 2
Platinum package, boat will collect you direct from rifle barrel. Mind the gap as you exit.
Dok Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 3
So as Reginald and Dorothy tucked into their first sandwich on their private boat tour of the islands, they realised ir was going to be a bit more exciting than they thought!
JAYSURFER69 Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 0
Gutted if the Captain didnl;t pack his camera, that would be a sick shot !!
Dave Devonshire Jun 15, 2011 Rating: -1
I now wish I'd got the jet ski instead for the tow-ins...........
plymouthian Jun 15, 2011 Rating: -19
Sorry but thats been shopped! No way those blokes will take there boat that close to the break its there entire income and if he was there he would be caught inside the wave behind and destroyed...not a chance its real, good tho!
SMOOCHOW Jun 17, 2011 Rating: 1
Hey PLY ur a real KNOB-JOCKEY ..... it is real , the indo driver stalled the engine , YOU can read the REAL story in the latest ASL if u like .... that's AUSTRALIAN SURFING LIFE .
plymouthian Jun 17, 2011 Rating: -1
Plus if he was that close he's guna close that down on mateys head which i dont think he would be happy about....do you seriously think a boat will go deeper than the other guys?
plymouthian Jun 17, 2011 Rating: -1
Sorry to burst your bubble bruv but i have been Indo and done a boat trip up round the mentawais, aswell as traveling and surfing lots of places round europe, you may see a driver get close at somewhere smaller but not double overhead rifles just to take a photo! These boats are their livelihood they dont risk them! My opinion!
Nurno Jun 16, 2011 Rating: 0
"the next one in the series" - where please? Be great to see the series!
goundas Jun 16, 2011 Rating: 2
I can assure you it wasn't shopped (except as noticed wiping the surf camp logo off the boat!). I'm surprised this shot was preferred over the next one in the series with the boat props above the head of the guy still deep in the barrel!! The motor stalled on landing after this wave, but had enough momentum to get over the next .. just. Spare a thought for the lady photograper in front seat !
Get Joggly Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 0
Yes its been shopped... the name of the Resort boat operators been brushed of the gunwale !
Chris Burton Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 1
Mate you clearly have not been to Indo! They are nutters! The bloke driving doesn't even seem too bothered.. No way it is the work of photoshop!!! deffo real, and by Indo standards not that dangerous.
greggybread Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 0
Thats why he is facing into the wave and not hitting it side on. Believe it or not, a lot of boats go over waves just like this every day. Not shopped at all
Inglorious Landlocked Basterd Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 0
OMG ! Wonder what happened next ? The captain had the wave of the day ? Must be quite hard to tuck that craft in the barrel.
Dave Devonshire Jun 15, 2011 Rating: 0
Darn it - I'm sure the bloke in the shop said it was a shaped a bit like a longboard...............best chop a few feet off it......
