That swell was epic. On the 21st when the swell went through Mossel Bay, I surfed the whole day. I made it out of like 15 full on tubes and countless head dips. On every singe wave there was a head dip, and every third a full on tube. That one day taught me 90% of what I know now about tube riding today, and changed my entire view on surfing.

Durbs has been firing all week! Warm water, pleasant weather (mostly :) ) and cooking winter surf! No better place to be in SA

I find it hard enough keeping my footing when ya flying down the face of an over head wave, let alone any higher: how these guys keep their composure in surf like this is beyond me - incredible effort! Great to see a paddle in too :D

Too true. And if you go to the next shot, he's not even riding a gun. It looks like a regular 6ft thruster. Madness!

Wow, and the second wave primed right behind. That must've been a heck of a day...

Saw the charts for this and figured the pics would come flooding in. Wonder what J-bay looked like? Awesome

Turns out the piers weren't safe either. Some waves breaking over onto the platform of new pier. Madness.
