The original comment refers back to when the photo was uploaded to Greenmount, I changed it to D-Bah and magically the forecast changed too, hence my correction. As for hyper local refraction, sandbars etc, no the models can't do that which is why people like yourself develop their own knowledge based upon the models.

c'mon ed!....you guys stuff up the dbah forecast all the time just own up to it and say the forecast cant account for variables like wave refraction around offshore reefs, islands and the tweed river outfall. blaming the photog is sort of lame!

Fair comment, I agree it is difficult under the circumstances that you say (slightly different spot etc) and no matter what no one can 100% predict mother nature. That said there have been times where at my local spot I have had decent waves but there has been no prediction for this from MSW, perhaps my original comment came across a bit too sarcastic or negative, this was not the intention I assure you. In general MSW does do a great job and has saved me countless hours in terms of waiting for the local weather forecast on TV etc and trips further up the coast from me. However, no one is perfect!

Not really Andy seeing as that replies upon a the photographer giving us the correct date and hour and (in this case) it was initially uploaded to a different close by spot whereas in the caption it clearly says D-Bah. I assume the photographer couldn't find the spot as he was looking in QLD, whereas D-Bah is just across the state border in NSW. You can see the forecast looks right now. If you have any examples of the forecast being out let us know.
