Yes!!! My home break! I can guarantee that these guys are probably the only one out that day at Pine Point, with peaks popping up for a mile down the beach. November is when the real surf season begins at OOB. I want to see some of these douchebags vibing this shot for being the POD try paddling out in weather that makes ice fisherman freeze their ass off.

It's incredible to me that there are comments that people felt they needed to say about this photo when the contributors clearly have no grasp if the concept of photography or aesthetics. The clumps of grass are called dunegrasses and they live at the beach. The ocean made those waves all by itself, not the photographer. And the light quality is something known as sunset in a high humidity environment.

I have a summer house baisically on OOB. Nice picture, I was really suprised to see this up there. Nice view of the pier. Sadly school has started, which means I am no longer there. Looks good though!

There is something more to surfing than just an epic wave or a bright coloured board or boardies or water clarity or surfing megastar or whatever. This shot catches a little bit of that something.

I didn't say it was a bad photo or that every photo thats not of a guy in board shorts riding a bright board in tropical waters didn't deserve photo of the day, or that i wouldn't have fun surfing out there. I just said if this was pic of the day, then there wasn't much to choose from. It was an observational opinion. I was under the impression the reason there is an option to comment was for this reason. I didn't realise all comments had to be positive.

Yeah, sticking with my guns on this one. I didn't say it was a s**t photo, or that I wouldn't have fun surfing out there, it just doesn't scream photo of the day to me. Wasn't aware freedom of opinion was shunned these days, unless of course you live in the states!

I will tell you what that little bit of something is...a clump of grass, below average sloppy waves, ocean mist, the heads of 2 surfers, and a washed out photo. There, does that clear up that something for you??

Why is it when someone states the truth for a picture being very meh...they get the negative? This picture is VERY average at best. From 1-10 it might be a 2 or 3. There obviously were no better pictures or they would be up there...hence they must have had very little to choose from.

Agreed 7, Bali trader prefers overcrowded Ulu's, I can understand him, but personally I'm more used to cold & empty peaks and this looks rippable to me. I would definitely get surfed out there. So yes it deserves to be a POD, a refreshing one.

Rubbish. It's got size, commitment (Maine in November), and a gorgeous composition. And it's a 30 minute drive from me. I'd say it's deserving.
