This comment has nothing to do with the photo above but i felt i needed to say it..... Oi, MSW.... whats with all this "this video is private" malarky?? I went for a cheeky second look at the Alana Blanchard and Monica Byrne Wickey gopro footage (obviously purely for the surfing) from last month only to be bitterly dissapointed. Rant over!

On a related note (sort of), i still think Maui has the biggest wave ever ridden- one of MANY shots to prove the point - http://magicseaweed.com/photoLab/viewPhoto.php?photoId=1847 compare that to Macnamara's - http://magicseaweed.com/Nazare-Up-To-11-Content/3549/ - - - This "biggest wave ever" was, in my opinion, just part of a media blast to get surfing in the main stream.... Kelly winning 11... the crowning error... surfing in New York, San Fran, Rio.......... biggest wave ever? Very debatable.
