Roo McCrudden's photo of Mullaghmore Head

Jayce Robinson at Mullaghmore on the Atlantic swell of the winter so far... the day the tow-in comp 'almost' went. Shortly after this Jayce used himself as a human wedge to split his tow board in two and had to retire from the fray with a bust knee. Hopefully he's not sidelined for too long.

Whats an American hip hop group from Compton, California, widely considered one of the seminal acts of the gangsta rap sub-genre got to do with it?

I would of paddled into this but I took an arrow to the knee... But seriously that's a hell of a wave! and no I wouldn't even dream of going anywhere near that! Yikes! Nice to know that there are world class waves out near us though.

I saw JR surfing 3 ft at Penhale back along and his fins didn`t touch the water, glad to see he can cut it on a big scale.

Holy fu*k! Is the photo comment a euphemistic way of saying that the lip drilled his ass, buckling his board, and simultaneously dislocated his knee? Give this young charger two or three months, and he'll be back on it.

Mick0's avatar

Mick0 Dec 14, 2011 Rating: 0

There was last feb. look for Mully '11. Window currently open for this years event. Apparently all bodies were on standby for this swell. But, difficult to accurately predict what it was going to be like- with strong variable winds..

yea I thought so...fair play. I can't surf anything above 6ft, and thats when I'm on my game...total respect to anyone who can surf a 'big wave'.

When the Cribbar makes a Billabong XXL entry then we can have a discussion!!

youdig's avatar

youdig Dec 14, 2011 Rating: 2

Not really. If England slipped a few hundred miles west or Ireland wasn't there, then yes a discussion on comparisons could be had.
