I want a wave that is that shape, 2 km long, going from slow, easy, mellow wave and take-off to faster, and faster, and faster, whilst getting hollower and hollower, with a barrel hight of around 4ft. (PS, why do we keep measuring from the face and the back? That isn't accurate in determining how heavy it really is. We should start measuring it by tube hight and width, and lip on the more ridiculous waves where the tube hight is 1/2 the thickness of the lip.)

PS, I would take a beating harder than I normally would DARE for, for the sake of one of those, but without the 4 times overhead part...

Did anyone consider that this wave may well close out about 50 yards down the line and pinch into a 30ft deathtrap? Photos flatter and deceive, but nevertheless a killer shot bro.

Dont see why my comment was below threshold - i was only trying to portray that i agree that there has to be the mystical soul surfing side to our sport (both bodyboardiing and surfing) - you cant just expect someone who has battled to find this place to give up the co-ordinates.. plus ireland is putting itself on the sufing map faster than anywhere in the world right now - no need to speed that up is there - if anything we should slow it down... driving around irelands coasts for infinate hours at a time is what made surfing in ireland special... last thing - bodyboarding this wave would certainly not make it moderate, however good you are!!

liquid-storm's avatar

liquid-storm May 16, 2008 Rating: 0

Hey everyone, thanks so much for the comments, i'm having a good laugh reading them, i don't really care if it's been surfed or not or surfed by bodyboarders or surfers first i just want everyone to enjoy my photos, so enjoy and there will be more posted in the future and no it's not g-spot, if anyone has a photo of someone on this wave please put it up as i'm sure alot of people are keen to see it cheers

nelch's avatar

nelch May 15, 2008 Rating: 0

"secret" waves are all part and parcel of surfing, it adds that element of mystery, and ensures that only the most committed, who are willing to explore the coastline properly, will get waves like this. If you really want to know where this wave is, go to Ireland and find it yourself, it will be so much more satisfying.

Seán_Rusty's avatar

Seán_Rusty May 15, 2008 Rating: -1

Why would you want to keep it secret... Firstly, there wouldn't be a lot of people able for it... secondly... If u need a boat to get to it well then barely anyone can get to it... thirdly, a wave like teahupoo in Ireland would totally put Irish surfing on the map...

jefferz1's avatar

jefferz1 May 15, 2008 Rating: 2

Hey bodyboarding is not the 'easy' sport ok? it just has the advantages of more stability due to lying down and the fact that we can surf so many more waves than stand ups. Anyways sweet wave! how is that in the UK and not chopes?

wha wha?'s avatar

wha wha? Mar 16, 2011 Rating: 0

I don't think you can "surf" many more waves than stand ups, you can probably RIDE as many waves as stand ups and vice versa. By the way, how many bodyboarders do you see in Jaws, or Waimea (not the shore), Mavericks... perhaps a couple yea... Come on, no big deal, surfers, bodyboarders, kayakers, bodysurfers, SUP's, who cares, its all about that moment we all know about.

westmonster's avatar

westmonster May 15, 2008 Rating: 5

Wow Sullyray, I sense some hostility from you. Why is it that bodyboarders are always so Agro -their sport is infinitely easier (I could bodyboard at age 5 and yet it took me years to learn to surf). This wave would only present a moderate challenge when lying down. Stand up on this beast and see how well you do.

Firstly, dont be stupid - you cant have the coordinates.. and secondly yes it has been surfed.. you'll see photos soon - by bodyboarders, not surfers..as usual
