yes you guys are right this isnt boulders. its a right hand break called special k. dosent break often cas of swell direction. it does get pretty gnarly and when its low tide its nearly unsurfable but this shot was taken at pretty high tide. im the booger with no shirt on. hey stuart. Breaks over semi-sharp rocks and a bit of coral, nice change to the coral reefs of most the other breaks round there. has a really annoying rip that takes you deeper and deeper and the sets sneak up on you really easily. The end section is so gnarly! if you line it up right you get a mad pit but if you get it wrong ur screwed.. also if you get a beatdown you get taken riiight in onto this rock island thing, as the guy in the red shirt experienced. he broke his board on it haha.

I'd rather take on Tyson and Lewis at the same time than get caught by that beastie - probably less injury that way!

this looks like shipterns or ours at botany bay. Pretty heavy wave, definitely a tow in. nice blue wall and lip, mixture of evil and beauty ...scary
MattLat Jun 15, 2008 Rating: 0
Thats heavy, not so much big as it is heavy. Definitely a well deserved beating if you don't stick it. The guy on the right is paddling like he knows whats coming.

Square in the impact zone...where waves seem to come at you in slow motion.

You know that is a deadly photo, you can sense the anticipation, the energy and the sheer enthusiam to ride that bad boy!

Hey guys. This website doesn't seem to allow you to select any other spot for Samoa other than Boulders when you upload a photo. I suppose that is a good thing. This photo was taken on the outgoing tide. It is pretty gnarly when you are paddling into the wave because there is so much water drawing off the reef. Cheers

I love boulders, this is not boulders. i know where it is but I can't say because it is a sensitive area to name this right. Let's call it righties. Actually I don't really love boulders. Too crowded, jungle fever mosquitoes, a big trek overland or a boat load of guys. A flogging on the rocks here will send you to the clinic, thick nasty little thing at times, it's a sick adventure. errrr....what I meant is Boulders is a left hander, this is not. How many Boulders breaks in Samoa are there.
yitmoore Jun 14, 2008 Rating: 2
This may be Samoa, but Boulders is a right hand point break. This image get reversed for some reason?
