Not Porthcawl but near by - the evening light catches a nice looking left.

glad to see hbrs got outvoted here. the original comment struck me as somewhat narrow minded for someone who claims to love photography and surfing! it always strikes me as odd when one 'photographer' criticises another - any decent snapper surely knows there's no right or wrong and there are endless ways one can interpret any scene. i'd like to see alot more shots like this in the surfing mags and websites

Cracking shot dude. Some of these loosers don't know what they are talking about. Keep on trucking!!!!

Looks almost like an oil painting!! Superd work mate, shutter speed was perfect. Just enough to show the movement but not long enough to lose all your detail. Favorite!!

Thats a great wave art photo. You should get it put onto a surf T shirt for free at www.tuskasurf.co.uk

Exellent shot. Skilled photography. Results of these types of experiments can be hard to pull off in colour. Well done!

Thanks for all the positive messages! To answer some points - no it's not Porthcawl but it's in the area, of that I'm certain! As for the slow shutter speed - appreciate your view but what I'm after here is the movement of the water as the wave breaks not a simple documentary of a surf spot. both the light and the movement were important here.

stephen- I'm not saying its a crappy shot. I'm just voicing my opinion. Its not like I've never seen a photo like this before. I just don't appeal to them.

great shot - love the slow shutter speed, adds that added ethereal element - good work ;)

At last, Porthcawl(???) gets some good press!
stephen scullion Jun 26, 2008 Rating: 0
hbsrx:: why do something that gets done over and over again when you can be a little more creative and original. i think its a great photo, its not always easy to get results like this either so well done.
Binger Photo Jun 26, 2008 Rating: -5
Why the slow shutter speed? I think it ruined a potentially good shot. It looks like it would look amazing if it was just a fast shutter.
Inny Jun 26, 2008 Rating: 1
that is NOT porthcawl!
nokin Jun 26, 2008 Rating: 1
